A BOGGY VIEW
by my daughter Gileah 2005
come across and dance with me in the shade of the crooked tree!
we will dance a-through the bog and in the rain, and misting fog.
away! away! my leafy sweet! the roots of love beneath our feet! and gnarled around our wooden shoes- the vines, entwined, and shaped like toes.
what leads me here? to shout, to shout.... the greens! the blues! the secret's out!
who leads me here? to sing, to sing... the gloried branches of the tree king.
a woman smiles, is looking through. the forest glows with morning dew.
it holds her here, it binds me, too- a ripe old splendor:
a boggy view.
